What is Big Wheels?

Each year, the Seven Divisions of the Ontario District are encouraged to hold a Division Novice Contest. These contests provide an opportunity for members to participate in any one (or more) of 5 categories designed to further their singing enjoyment in an atmosphere of fun and friendship.

Super Novice Quartet Contest - 1 song

All four members must not have competed in any quartet at either the District or Divisional levels. However, some Divisions may wish to allow a previous “Non winning Quartet” in this to compete again as a means of Encouragement.

Regular Novice Quartet Contest  - 2 songs

A quartet in which no more than TWO members have competed in a District contest in the last 5 years.

Seniors Novice Quartet Contest- 2 songs

A Quartet in which no more than TWO members have competed in a District Contest in the last 5 years but with each members’ age at a minimum of 55 with an aggregate sum of all four totaling a minimum of 240 years.

Very Large Quartet - V.L.Q. Contest - 1 song

5 to 11 members with at least 50% of the ensemble not currently in quartets that have participated in a District Quartet Contest in the past 5 years.

Mini Chorus Contest - 1 song
