The Simcoe Gentlemen of Harmony is an acapella chorus singing four part harmony in the barbershop style. We get together weekly and have a major annual show as well as smaller performances throughout the year. The four parts are denoted TTBB in the music and stand for Tenor (a high tenor voice) Lead (a lower tenor) Baritone and Bass. Each person has their own voice range and find their comfort zone in one of those sections. We use online music tracks to learn our parts as well as printed music which is helpful even if you do not read music. Anyone can do it if you have a love of music. We have a wonderful Director of Music who can pick out each part as we sing and straighten us out when we are going off track. All in all it's a joyful experience to sing with a group of guys and have the harmonies reverberate around you.
The Simcoe Gentlemen of Harmony puts on an annual concert of inspiring entertainment including the chorus and award winning quartets from the Barbershop society.
In addition, our chorus as well as our registered quartets are available for various events.
We welcome interested guests to join us Tuesdays at 7:00PM at the Colborne Village United Church in Simcoe.
